Local Buses – Japan
In Tokyo, Osaka and some other large cities, buses serve as a secondary means of public transportation, complementing the train and subway networks. In cities with less dense train networks like Kyoto, buses are the main means of public transportation.
Buses also serve smaller towns, the countryside and national parks. Major cities are, furthermore, linked by highway and long distance buses.

Why Malaysia not popular with public transportation?? I think coz rakyat malaysia berlagak kot..because like use own transportation.Look at positive perspective if all people use public transportation it become best solution for traffic problem...

kdg2 susah nk dptkn pengangkutan awam tepat pd masa..so, guna kendraaan sendri tak buang masa. sesetengah tempat tu bas pn x msuk. Klu nk ambik teksi mahal la plak kena byr tmbang.
2,3 hari ni asyik kluar jer.mklumlah cuti semester, nk blik kg sibuk buat survey plak.. tiba2 terpandang bas rapid penang..wawawawaaa..rasa jelek pn ada tiba2..bkn apa, dulu rasa bas2 rapid lawa n smart jer...tp skrg ne bdn bas dh penuh dgn iklan2 la plak..dh sama mcm bas milan dulu tu..identiti or lambang rapid plak tampal kecil jer..x suka!! x suka!! x suka!!
